Hooton based Plus Point Quality (Plus Point) has been nominated for two of the most prestigious awards at the Wirral Chamber of Commerce business awards. The nominations were announced today, with Plus Point making the shortlists alongside two other companies.
Plus Point is a contender for the business of the year and also a personal accolade as Managing Director Mark Sweeney has been shortlisted for business person of the year.
Speaking about the nomination Mark Sweeney said, “we’re absolutely thrilled to be nominated. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by everyone involved with Plus Point. It’s been a transformational year for the company as we continued growing our quality control service and launched our CPD accredited Plus Point Improvement Programme. We’re looking forward to the event and we’re really pleased to be nominated alongside some terrific other businesses.”
Plus Point has experienced phenomenal growth in the previous 12 months, doubling its turnover. It has reinvested its profits back into the business, launching the Plus Point Improvement Programme, a CPD accredited automotive training programme designed to upskill those working in the manufacturing industry. Mark Sweeney has been working with the Wirral Chamber, Local Enterprise Partnerships and growth hubs to identify regions in the North West and across the UK which would benefit from the training. As a result, Plus Point recently signed a deal with one of the UK’s largest manufacturers to become their sole training provider.
The annual Wirral Chamber of Commerce business awards recognises the outstanding commitment and achievements of Wirral based organisations to the business community. It is typically attended by more than 520 key business leaders, making it one of the largest events in the region.
The winners of the awards will be revealed at a black-tie gala on 22nd September 2017 at the luxurious Thornton Manor.
